Living on Campus is Very Overrated

I knew when I loved down to Georgia for school that I was going to have to eventually look at luxury apartments in Atlanta GA because I was going to need a place to live year round. I was going to be working off campus to pay for my living expenses while in school so I had to find a place to live year round. The campus closes during breaks and summers and that was not going to work for me. I remember when my older sister moved to her college campus when I was in high school and she almost had to leave school because of how bad her roommate was. I will never forget all of the weekends she came home to escape from her terrible living situation. I feel like getting my own apartment will also save me from the burden of taking care of other people and their messes if I had someone that I needed to help me pay rent.

I was hoping that my parents would be open enough to let me talk to them about getting my own apartment. I showed them how much money they would be saving in room and board and they said that as long as I could swing it while working, they did not see a reason why they wouldn’t help me time to time. I know how stressful it is going to be going to college, living off campus, and also working but it is something that I want to be able to say that I did. I want to try, at least I can say that I tried it on my own. If it does not work out, then I can always move back to campus and do the typical college experience with the rest of my peers.
